Wasted Youth Club asked me to illustrate the cover of their new single Bad Blood.
After listening to the song and reading the lyrics, I saw images of something or someone who feels oppressed, but tries to hide that feeling with a tight smile that actually reveals that the person is unhappy or at least angry. The character turns completely blue and flames begin to lick him. The collar he wears reinforces the suffocation, but also shows that he has been domesticated — perhaps not by an owner, but by an idea. I drew it on 30 × 30 cm watercolor paper, using chalk, acrylic, and pencil.)
More artwork for the band will follow!
