Samhain Festival asked me to design the poster for their upcoming 2026 edition. The festival is dedicated to extreme music, primarily black metal. While this genre has a well-established visual language, it also carries a fundamentally rebellious and anti-conformist spirit: as an active participant in the scene myself, I wanted to reconnect with that spirit by challenging its visual conventions rather than reproducing them.
For this poster, I deliberately chose a more naïve, folkloric, and sincere visual language: one that feels ancient, pre-Christian, and rooted in tradition rather than overtly dark, aggressive, or ornate. It is an approach that may provoke resistance from some within the scene, but that is precisely what makes it worthwhile. If people push back, it means something is shifting.
