Aan Tafel is a book that was created in collaboration with the Amadeus Lyceum and restaurant Syr under my supervision.
My idea was to make a cookbook in which the cultural encounter between students and refugees is central. Food connects enormously, and is a great glimpse into another culture. In addition, the day is discussed at the table. That is something universal.
The result was a cookbook that linked stories to memories of smell, color and small anecdotes. The war vibrates in the background, but has no main note in this book.
Aan Tafel was for sale at the famous zine store Athenaeum in Amsterdam.
