Aan Tafel is a book that was created in collaboration with the Amadeus Lyceum and restaurant Syr.
My idea was to make a cookbook in which the cultural encounter between students and refugees is central. Food connects enormously, and is a great glimpse into another culture. In addition, the day is discussed at the table. That is something universal.
The result was a cookbook that is next to recipes full of stories from refugees. And then no flight stories, but stories about food. Recall kitchens and spices. The students of the Amadeus Lyceum have beautifully recorded and drawn these stories under my supervision.
Aan Tafel was for sale at the famous zine store Athenaeum in Amsterdam.
